BACK AGAIN: GOTHIC / WAVE / DARK-WAVE

ZOAR – Clouds Without Water (CD 2003)

(Middle Pillar http://www.middlepillar.com )

„Clouds Without Water“ ist the third album of ZOAR and their most ambitious work yet. I exspected some very dark moments on this CD, but actually, this isn´t true at all. The music is very ecclectic and reserved and not full of Dark Wave cliche. It is a mixture between dark-ambient soundscapes, Folk and Neo-Classic, combined with some  Soundtrack  and Industrial elements.

The New York Times called ZOAR „the masters of the cinematic instrumental“ and the Release infos says „epic and powerful“, so who am I to contradict?

What makes this album so very special, are the wonderful musical guests, with Matt Johnson (The The) and Brendan Perry (Dead Can Dance) in the front row and many more less known, but not worse people.

„Clouds Without Water“ is simply a BEAUTIFUL album! (A.P.)
