SCREAMING FOR EMILY from the USA doesn´t have been a very well-known band, but a good one, which´s records are worthy to be collected by Gothic-Rock fans. „Scriptures“ is their 1987 Mini Album with 6 great songs. The music is a fine mixture of Gothic-Rock and Keyboard sounds with a doomy atmosphere. SCREAMING FOR EMILY sometimes sound a bit like a combination of The Bolshoi (but without such big Pop influences) and a mainstream version of Crispy Ambulance or something like that, really hard to describe. There are a lot of Wave influences in the music. If you are a serious collector of New Wave/Gothic Rock, this band needs to be included in your record board. „The Love“ is a real classic song and „Too Late For Prayer“ has an atmosphere of real despair, while „Last Goodbye“ is a bit more dancable. „Another Girl“ is a pure New Wave song, „From Your heart“ is a Gothic-ballad and finally „Just A Lie“ is another little Gothic hymn.
