„Descent To Heaven“ is the third self produced release of Germany´s REPTYLE and maybe they can be the saviour of this musical style, ´cos they are so powerful. It is hard to understand, why they do not have a recording deal yet, but I am sure, this will follow soon. This MCD presents three new songs, first of all the great „Descent To Heaven“, which will rock the dancefloors soon, I think, The guitars are „classic“ and the melody has a heavy New Wave touch. Next comes „Green Land“, a much more rough and driving track, which is my favourite on this release. Finally comes the epic „Redemption Street“, which could become a Gothic-Rock hymn in the vein of Fields Of The Nephilim´s „Elyzium“ album. I think, if everything runs fine for the band, they can make the same successful way as Love Like Blood did in the early 90s. It seems, that there is a new breed of Gothic-Rock band (not Gothic-Metal bands!), which will reanimate this style in our new millennium. Hopefully, REPTYLE will play in the first row. If you like good old bands like Love Like Blood, Dronning Maud Land, Merry Thoughts and early Dreadful Shadows (and even the British bands from the 90s), you surely will love REPTYLE, so visit their Website and order this masterpiece. As REPTYLE´s former releases, „Descent To Heaven“ has a very good and powerful sound and a really professional, beautiful artwork. There is no reason, not to get this CD, unless you are only an Electro-Head. I am curious, which label will sign this band... (A.P.) to this at highest volume, and, if you love classical Gothic-Rock, you will
possibly have a new favourite band!
There
was much to read about this relatively new band in German magazines in the
last months. All reviews about their music have been very positive and all
the writers have been right. REPTYLE are definetly a very good Gothic-Rock
band! „...Till Life Do Us Part“ is their second self produced CD and
everybody, who likes the traditional british Gothic-Rock of the 80s and
especially the 90s, should contact the band as soon as possible! REPTYLE
play pure Gothic-Rock in the style of bands like Children On Stun,
Restoration II, Vendemmian and Fields Of the Nephilim and fortunatly, they
don´t add any Gothic-Metal elements, like so many bands do these days. The
song „Just Another Message“ is a forthcoming classic and will be played
in good Clubs very soon, I think. Even, if this is a totally independently
produced CD-EP, the sound quality is very good, the artwork is highly
professional, too! I am surprised, that this very own band has not been
discovered by any label yet...maybe, REPTYLE wants to stay absolutely
independent? I am sure, that they are a very powerful live band and hope
they will play Hamburg soon! Until then, I listen to „...Till Life Do Us
