BACK AGAIN: ENGLISH WAVE & GOTHIC REVIEWS
| NEW MATH - Wake The Dead (CD) (Reanimator Records) Another "hard-to-find" band and a fine one too. The album "They Walk Among Us" was released back in 1982 on 415 Records and seems to be a typical record for this period. Mostly New Wave, but you can call it also Post-Punk with Keyboards and a touch of Gothic-Rock. Take PIL, Kommunity FK, Wall Of Voodoo, Gary Numan, a little bit of Punk and some Gothic-Rock moments and you get NEW MATH. Good mix, you think? You are right, "They Walk Among US" ist a really good record and you should try to find a copy somewhere. This record and another NEW MATH album, "Gardens" has been re-released as CD under the titel "Wake The Dead" on Reanimator Records in 1999 (P.O.Box 1582, Ann Arbor, MI 48106 USA). "Gardens" seems to be a bit more mainstream, but sounds very great too. Take it, if you can find it anywhere, you will like it. |
