I received this CD from the Pandaimonium Mailorder (see "Wreckage"-CD).NEVA is a french band coming from the 80s, not very well-known outside France. But the few people who know the band loved this three-piece. DARKSIDE REC. re-released some material of NEVA back in 1998 on this CD and even, if the CD is not actual, I feel the pressure to present you this wonderful music. NEVA is really unique, you can call it "Cold-Wave meets Gothic-Rock", or more special "Norma Loy meets the Specimen" (even in the outfit!). Tracks like "Outrage" or "Tue-les" stand in the same classical row as "1964 Shadows" or "Lesbische Voodoo Teenagers" by Norma Loy or some Clair Obscur tracks (from their danceable side). I think, NEVA are typical french and so they never realised an international breakthrough, but this CD is worthy to explore. (A.P.)
