KASTLE GREY
SKULL Lighten Up, Itīs Just Rape! (CD 2001)
(kastlegreyskull@yahoo.com)
12
songs in less than 22 minutes, well, sounds like a Punk-Rock or
Trash-Metal-Band. Actually KASTLE GREY SKULL from Hollywood/California are
really trashy and rocky with the powerful voice of singer Bridgett Vera.
It is punky Death-Rock for your next Halloween Party, somewhere between 45
Grave, The Damned and the Superheroines, but more in a Punk way. As KASTLE
GREY SKULL cover songs of the Misfits and T.S.O.L., you can perfectly get
an idea of the bandīs sound. It also reminds me on the very first
recordings of the German band Untoten. The short CD is a totally
independent product and the band chose a good way to distribute the
release, as they give it to interested people nearly for free and ask to
make copies and spread them around. This is real independent. Nobody earns
much money, but the music will be available all around the world.
And take a
look at the bandīs name! Iīve never been a fan of Masters Of The
Universe, but I think, KASTLE GREY SKULL is a fucking cool name for such a
band. Death-Rock at its best! Get in contact with Bridgett, if you are
into this style. KASTLE GREY SKULL are more punky bastards of Antiworld. A
interview will follow very soon! (A.P.)
