DVAR
– Piirrah (CD 2002)
(SPKR/E.N.D.E.
www.endemusic.com )
This
release from the italian SPKR/E.N.D.E. label is a really strange one. The
artwork contains nearly no more infos, than the song titles, so I can write
about the music only. It is mostly electronic Dark Wave with very few
influences from Industrial and sometimes small medieval sounds. Often it is
very dancable like the track „Vo Rah Arrah iill“ and has a voice, that can
be best described as if the three witches from „Macbeth“ made a record. I
don´t know, if the lyrics make any sense, because they are, like the song
titles, sung in a language, I don´t understand...well, maybe it is no real
language at all. The music sounds heavily like the early 90s Dark Wave of
bands like Das Ich, Ghosting, Relatives Menschsein and very early (tape
period) Eternal Afflict and other projects mostly from Germany. As longer,
as I listen to this release, I think, that most of the tracks sound very
similar, but all in all, the album is okay, even it is definetly not
groundbreaking. I would like to know more about this project, for example,
if it is some kind of serious Ritual project or more kind of fun. Strange...
