I have heard of THE CHANGELINGS on some Compilation CDs, butter never listened to a complete album, which is a shame, but for some reason, it never happened.

Now the band releases the new album on the fine Middle Pillar lable and it ist a very good one!

It is not easy, to describe the music in the right way, ´cos there are so many different influences. The whole atmosphere has a certain medieval feeling, but also some atmospheric tunes and even a couple of Gothic moments. Mix it together and you get THE CHANGELINGS. A lot of the dreamy atmosphere is caused by singer Regeana Morris beautiful voice. Sometimes this album reminds me a bit of a more Gothic oriented version of Ataraxia or even the late Cocteau Twins with more straight song structures, think of This Mortal Coil, too. My personal favourite is the opening track „Departure“, but of course there are a lot of other great songs on this album. Also the cover artwork looks really good, like we know it from most Middle Pillar releases. There is also a strange cover version of „See Emily Play“, which sounds a bit like The Sundays or Pale Saints. If I had to describe this album in one word, I simply would call it „beautiful“! (A.P.)
