| THE BRICKBATS - Creepy
Crawly (CD) (Dismal Abysmal Recordings, 128 E. Broadway, P.O.Box 149, New York NY 10002-9998, USA) I´ve read about THE BRICKBATS once, but never heard any songs of them, until I found a CD release of them in the catalogue of one of the finest Gothic/DarkWave mailorders Nightbreed (2nd Floor, 177 Wollaton Street, Nottingham NG1 5GE, England), described as "more Death Rock´n´Roll than Goth". Good description so far. Let´s explain it as The Misfits meet 45 Grave plus some poppy moments sometimes in various tracks. Not pure Punk, not dark enough for Gothic-Rock, so Horror-Rock´n´Roll will fit the whole thing best. Even, if the CD runs only about 30 minutes, you get a very powerful dose of great music with a nice Trash image. Take it, if you love US-Death-Rock as much as I do. (A.P.) |
