BLACK ATMOSPHERE - Redeem (CD)

(Darkside Distribution)

BLACK ATMOSPHERE are an american band and "Redeem" has been their first (as far as I know) album in 1996. Mostly, "first albums" sound very raw and powerful, because of not very well possibilities to produce a "perfect" album, so it is here. Not, that the sound is bad or something like that, but in a very fresh way "underground". The music is composed of many Gothic-/Death-Rock elements and some electronic influences. It reminds me sometimes a bit on a mixture of (now I again name some less known, but very great bands) Shadow Of Fear and Amor Fati/Vandal X. It never sounds like the band, which´s name can be shortened with C.D., even, if you can call BLACK ATMOSPHERE an American Gothic band, which means nothing else, than a harder version of the classical Gothic-Rock plus some Punk and few Metal influences. Sounds not bad, does it? (A.P.)
