ILLEGALTEENAGEBIKINI – I Am Not Job (CD 2002) (Precipice Recordings/WTII Records precipice@mindspring.com , www.wtiirecords.com )
The music is very simple, or better call it minimalistic, somewhere between Folk, Country and Hippie-music. The sound is dominated by an acoustic guitar and the dark voice, which reminds me on Peter Murphy or Bret Helm of Audra, filled up with slide guitars, some drum loops and a few samples, but nearly no real drumming. Some songs could also be right for open-minded Death In June fans, even, if they are not so dark. One of my favourites is „Drop The Dime“, which has a certain Gothic-feeling and could have been on an Audra album, too. „Between The Wars“ would have been a big sucess on the legendary Woodstock festival, I think and many other songs are simply loveable singer/songwriter compositions with Patrick Ogle as a dark storyteller. If you like some bands/projects of the Projekt Records label, you will surely love ILLEGALTEENAGEBIKINI, too.
