NUEVA GERMANIA – Falk Im Juni (CD 2002)

(S.P.K.R./E.N.D.E. www.endemusic.com )

I never heard of NEUVA GERMANIA before this CD, even, if they have a couple of releases. Unfortunatly, I cannot give any informations about this project, neither about their personal, nor their political background. The cover artwork of this release contains a collage of black/white pictures of German soldiers, Marilyn Monroe, skulls and bones, advertisments from the 50s and much more, but I don´t see a conceptual intention behind this...or I don´t understand it. The music of NUEVA GERMANIA is somewhere betwenn noisy Industrial and ambient loops with a lot of samples, humming and a nerve disturbing machine-park noise. Sometimes I feel remembered on early Controlled Bleeding or Germany´s Endzeitgeneration and even on some Japanese Noiseslaughters like Aube, Merzbow and Gerogerigegege. This could also support films of derek Jarman like „Blue“ or „In The Shadow Of The Sun“, but it is sometimes close to unconceptual noise like in the early 90s Tape scene. Maybe I would understand this release better with some additional infos, but in this case, I really prefer Controlled Bleeding´s „Body Samples“ or „Dub Songs From A Shallow Grave“ albums. If you are into such sounds, listen to NUEVA GERMANIA very (!) loud through headphones, maybe it will give you the kick to kill people with a machine gun. (A.P.)
